Chancel Choir

The Chancel Choir consists of approximately sixty singers of diverse abilities, gifts and ages, committed to high standards of musicianship in worship.  In weekly services they lead worshippers through the singing of hymns, psalter selections, choral anthems, and responses.  Twice per year this group leads special worship services accompanied by organ, harpsichord, and guest orchestra members.  The choir is open to believers who are called to serve in this way and willing to commit the necessary time, effort, and energy to this ministry. No auditions are required.  Chancel Choir rehearsals are held each Wednesday evening in the Choir Room from 7:00-8:30 p.m.  Lord's Day morning rehearsals begin at 8:00 and 10:30 a.m., thirty minutes prior to each worship service.

The music literature consists of a variety of styles including classical, folk song, spiritual, hymn arrangements, and popular selections.  Choir members are challenged as they improve in their understanding of music theory, vocal technique, and musical expression through these choral works.  All music is Biblically appropriate for worship and of high standards within each genre.
